St. Anthony Park Area Seniors volunteers will provide short-term respite for caregivers caring for seniors.    Caregivers can leave the residence for appointments, a walk, an event, etc.  Visits are usually two hours or less.  Volunteers do not do any personal care during these visits.  Visits can be an ongoing arrangement between the volunteer and caregiving family.

Seniors who are 60 or older and reside in the St. Anthony Park Area Seniors service area are eligible for this service.

There is no charge for this service.  Donations are requested, but not required.

A lead time of one week is needed for this service and an initial home visit from St. Anthony Park Area Seniors staff is required.  Look here for a complete set of guidelines.

"Both my wife and I have appreciated being able to draw on the generosity and good will of SAPAS respite caregivers.  As my wife's primary cargiver, I am comforted to know that she's in good hands while I'm away."
